Create posts with workflows
Create turns a question your latest scan lost, or a topic you type, into a draft in your brand voice. A workflow is the recipe; a run is one batch through it.
Create (under Content in the sidebar) is where new posts start. Say what you want written, or pick one of the questions your latest visibility scan lost, and Pendium writes a draft grounded in your brand voice, knowledge base and scan.
Two words come up on this page:
- A workflow is the recipe: the steps a post goes through, such as checking what we know about your business, searching the web, outlining, drafting, adding a header image and checking quality.
- A run is one batch through a workflow: one to five ideas, each of which becomes its own draft.
Start a post
Type a topic or a question your customers ask, or pick a question from Recommended from your scan. Your request opens a conversation with the Pendium assistant in Agent, with Back to Create at the top to return. It's an ordinary chat, saved in Agent's chat list, so you can pick it up there later. Pendium writes what you asked for, in your words, and shows the workflow and its steps before anything runs. Nothing starts until you confirm. You don't need a visibility scan to start. When your latest scan lost a question on the same topic, the card names it and the post answers it along the way, so AI assistants asked that question have something of yours to cite. The scan adds to your request; it never replaces it.
For a typed request Pendium prefers one of your saved workflows when its name, direction and steps suit what you asked for, and otherwise uses a built-in one. A request to write about one of your services, such as "write about our drain cleaning service", runs on Explain a service. A topic that needs outside sources runs on Answer a scan question, with web research. A request about your business that your latest scan has nothing to add to runs on Answer from what you know. If your request includes links to read, or details about your business for the post to use, the workflow reads those pages and works your details in as facts from you. To change the plan for this request, tell the assistant: turn web research off, use an AI header image, or add notes and links. Or use Edit workflow on the plan's card to add or remove steps yourself, and Save as workflow to keep the card's steps in your Workflows for later (your notes and links for this post aren't kept). Before a post states something your request assumes about your business, the run checks it against what you've told us.
Ask a question instead, such as "how does Autopilot work?" or "what should I write about?", and the assistant answers without starting anything. For ideas, it lists questions your latest scan lost.
You can also ask for a post from Agent directly; it's the same assistant and works the same way.
Create content on a task in Tasks opens Create with the task's question. The outline gets the task's description and the questions it targets, and the task follows the run: In progress while it runs, then Awaiting approval with Review draft once the draft is ready. If the task's question isn't one your latest scan lost, Create writes it as it is.
Or start from picks where a run's ideas come from: A scan question, A service, A link, Google Trends, Your reviews, Places you serve, A business goal, A task, or All workflows for your saved workflows and the full library. A run is one workflow on several ideas at once. The built-in workflows:
| Workflow | Runs on | What it writes |
|---|---|---|
| Answer a scan question | Questions your latest scan lost | A post that answers a question AI assistants were asked, where they named other businesses and not yours. Uses web research. |
| Answer from what you know | Questions your latest scan lost | The same post without the web search. It sticks to your knowledge base and your scan. |
| Explain a service | Your services (from Business Info) | A post about one service: what it is, who it's for and what to expect. If you type a service that isn't in your Business Info, its Check the service step checks you offer it before the post says so. |
A card opens a conversation with the Pendium assistant in Agent, like a typed request, with Back to Create at the top. For A link, paste the address of a page, such as a competitor's post. Pendium reads it and the pages that rank against it (a minute or two the first time), then suggests post ideas that take the angles those pages leave open. Tick up to five, or ask for different ones, and they run on Answer a scan question. The page's analysis also appears in your Knowledge. If the page can't be read, the ideas come from its address alone, and the assistant tells you. For Google Trends, the form opens on what you sell, taken from the services in your Business Info or your company profile's products and services, with a few more under it to switch to in one tap. Change the topic if you like, then pick a country (it starts on yours when your profile names one) and a window (7, 30 or 90 days). Pendium shows the searches that are climbing and suggests post ideas that ride them; tick up to five. Your reviews reads what customers say about you on Google and Yelp and suggests how-to posts built on the problems those reviews show you solved, not posts that repeat the reviews. Places you serve suggests local guide posts for the service areas in your Business Info, then the neighborhoods and city on your Google and Yelp listings: neighborhood guides, local how-tos, what to know about a service in your area. A business goal suggests posts that move one of your goals forward; with several goals, pick one first. A task does the same for a content task waiting in Tasks; the run then serves that task, which moves along the board as the run goes. Ideas from these cards don't describe a service, equipment or practice as yours unless your Business Info or knowledge base says so. For the other cards the assistant shows the plan on a card: let Pendium pick (biggest scan gaps first, or your services in list order, skipping ideas you've already run), change how many or Swap one for the next, or Choose my own from the list and type your own. A run takes up to five ideas. You can also ask in words ("swap the second one", "run it on these three"). Nothing starts until you press Start and confirm.
You don't need the card: in Agent, name a workflow ("run my FAQ answers workflow on these two questions") or ask which workflows you have, and the assistant finds it among the same workflows the cards list and shows its plan.
Each idea runs on its own. When every idea is ready for you or done, the assistant goes through them one by one. The run's card lists each idea with its status: open a waiting idea to review its outline or sections right there, or tell the assistant what to approve or change. While one idea waits for you, the others keep going, and their drafts show up on the card as they finish. Use workflow in Workflows opens the same conversation.
A service can also write a landing page: Service landing page. It runs on your services and writes one landing page per service, saved as a draft in your site's Pages. The run list marks those rows Page, and Open takes you to the page editor. Each page counts toward your plan's monthly pages.
The composer's Options also have a Make choice: Auto, Post or Page, for that request only. On Auto, the assistant reads your request: a page about one of your services ("a page for our ceramic coating service") becomes a Service landing page for that service, and anything else becomes a post. Post and Page decide it for you. The plan card is marked Post or Page and has Write a post instead or Write a page instead, which plans the same request as the other kind without retyping it. For a page, what you typed goes to the writer as a note, and the run stops at Pick sections like any Service landing page run. Details in your request that your Business Info and site don't back up aren't treated as facts, and the page check flags them if they end up on the page. Nothing starts until you press Start and confirm.
A Service landing page run stops at Pick sections before it writes anything, and the row reads Waiting for you. You see the sections Pendium planned: what kind each is, its heading, what it covers and the facts it uses. Remove a section, move one up or down, rename a heading, or use Change something to leave a note for the writer, then Approve sections. The page is written with those sections in that order, under your headings, following your note. The plan isn't redone; your note travels with it. Like an outline, the sections wait up to 72 hours. If you edit the draft page yourself while the run waits, the run stops instead of writing over your changes.
Places you serve can also write one page per town: Location pages. Pick one of your written pages, usually a service page, and the places you serve. Pendium lists your Business Info service areas, or the neighborhoods and city on your Yelp or Google listing if you haven't added any, and you can type other towns. Each place gets its own draft page, rewritten for someone in that place from the page you picked and your Business Info. The page says nothing about the place beyond its name unless your facts do: no landmarks, drive times or claims about customers there. Where it needs a detail only you know, such as whether you travel to that town, it leaves [Add your specifics here] for you to fill in, and the run marks the row Needs you.
Write it myself opens a blank post in the editor. AI help, web research, a search of your knowledge base and the quality check are there as buttons when you want them.
Saved workflows
Open Workflows (under Content, or All workflows on Create) to see your saved workflows and the built-in ones.
- New workflow starts from the required steps. Add the ones you want, name it and save it.
- Customize on a built-in workflow makes a copy you can change.
For each saved workflow you can set its name, what it runs on (scan questions or your services), who the posts are for, the header image, whether it stops at the outline for you, and a Direction: guidance such as tone, angle or audience that applies to every post it writes. Direction steers the writing; it is never treated as a fact about your business.
Turn on Agent and Autopilot can pick this workflow to let the agent choose it for a request. Mark one workflow as the default for scan questions, and one for services, to have the recommendation cards and Autopilot use it instead of the built-in. Changes apply to new runs only.
Approve the outline
Every run with an outline stop pauses at the outline. Read it, edit the title, ask for a change ("lead with the pricing section"), or approve it. For a post or a run you started in a conversation, the assistant tells you when the outline is ready and shows it there: approve it in the card or tell the assistant what to change. Once you approve, Pendium writes the draft from that outline. You can leave the page while it works; each post lands in Content → All content as a draft, and the assistant reads the draft back to you when it's ready.
An outline waits up to 72 hours for you. After that the run stops; start a new run from Create to try again.
Each section heading in the outline can be renamed before you approve, and the draft uses your headings as written.
Runs in progress
Create always opens on its home page. Every run that is still going, whether it covers one idea or several, is listed under In progress with what it's waiting on. Open on a run you started in a conversation reopens that conversation; any other run opens its progress view. Back to Create returns to the home page and the run keeps going.
A run the agent planned in one of your conversations but hasn't started yet is listed too, as Planned, not started, for up to a week. Open returns to that conversation, where you can start it.
The same goes for a conversation that stopped before a plan: one with ideas to pick from a starting point (for example 5 ideas to pick from after Google Trends), or one waiting on a starting point's form (Waiting for a topic). Once you plan from it, its row becomes the plan's.
The trash icon beside Open takes a row off In progress after you confirm:
- A planned run, or ideas you hadn't picked from, is archived. Nothing had run, and the conversation stays, so you can still pick up from there.
- A run that's going is stopped: at once if it's waiting for you, or after the step it's on if it's working. A run of several ideas stops all of its ideas. It shows as Stopped by you, and approving it later doesn't restart it. A draft that already has text stays in your drafts; a post that had no text yet leaves your lists. The conversation stays.
You can also ask the agent to stop a run, or to drop a plan you don't want, in its conversation.
A run that hasn't moved for six hours while writing, or whose outline has waited more than three days, leaves In progress and shows as stopped, with nothing published. If it stopped before the post had any text, that post shows as Failed in All content. Start it again from Create.
Where drafts go
Every post a run writes is saved as a Draft in All content. Nothing is published until you publish it: open the draft in the editor, make your changes, then publish it to your site or schedule it. If you've connected a CMS, published posts sync there too.
When the quality check flags a claim as possibly false, or a statistic it couldn't trace, the draft is marked Needs you in Create and in All content, and the editor won't publish it until you fix or keep each flagged claim.
Posts you made before Create replaced the worksheet are in All content as well, with their status unchanged.
Autopilot
With Autopilot on, Pendium writes posts on the schedule you set, from the questions your latest scan lost, your recommended posts and your services. For each one it starts a run and picks a workflow. If you've marked a saved workflow as the default for that kind of idea, it uses that one (unless it reads linked pages). Otherwise a question about your business is answered from your knowledge base only, other scan questions get web research, and a service gets a post on what it is, who it's for and what to expect. Autopilot approves its own outlines, and its posts go straight to All content.
Once every one of those has a post, Autopilot keeps writing in your topic areas, the groups of questions your visibility scans track. Each post is a new question inside an area, one your posts haven't answered yet, and it's checked against your existing post titles so it doesn't repeat one. Your latest scan decides where it writes next: the areas where AI left you out of the most answers come first, and they take turns, so one area doesn't get every post. The outline sees the area's lost questions and who AI recommended instead. Your Reputation topic isn't used.
Every Autopilot post goes through the quality check. A post that passes is published to your site. A post the check flags as possibly false or with a statistic it couldn't trace, or that scores below your brand's bar, stays a draft marked Needs you in All content, with the reason on the post. Turn off Publish posts automatically on the Autopilot card to keep every Autopilot post a draft until you publish it. Nothing else in Pendium publishes a post without you.
Autopilot follows the same plan rules as everything else: it doesn't write new posts on the free plan, and its posts count toward your plan's monthly posts and usage.
Autopilot turns itself on, at two posts and one scan a week, when a brand on Starter or Pro finishes onboarding, or when its owner moves to one of those plans (a free trial counts). It writes the brand's first post once Pendium has read the brand's website (up to half an hour for a large site) and rewritten the brand's profile from it, instead of waiting a few days for its first scheduled one, and emails you when it's ready. The brand's site build starts after that first post, so the site is built from it. If you've already set Autopilot up for a brand, your setting stays, and a brand that already has a published post or an Autopilot post in progress doesn't get another one. No first post is written while Autopilot is off, set to scans only, or paused for the rest of the month.
Plans and limits
New posts and pages are on the Starter, Pro and Managed plans. On the free plan, Create shows what it would write for your brand, with the recommendations locked. Starting a run needs the brand's owner to upgrade (first-time subscribers get a 7-day free trial on Starter or Pro, card required, cancel before it ends and you aren't charged).
Each idea in a run counts toward your plan's monthly posts.
If your account is in read-only mode, you can browse Create and your drafts but can't start a run.
Working with posts from an AI agent
In the app, runs start on Create or from a conversation with the Pendium assistant. Over MCP, an agent works with the posts they produce:
- Edit and refine posts:
list_blog_posts,get_blog_post,update_blog_post,regenerate_blog_post,generate_blog_post_image,set_blog_post_image. - Publish and schedule posts:
publish_blog_post,schedule_blog_post,unschedule_blog_post,move_blog_post_to_draft,delete_blog_post.
See the post tool reference for the full API.
